Is General Sarath Fonseka ready for “The Mara Parajaya” or committed himself to a “mara parajaya”?

When General Sarath Fonseka was hard battling with barbaric LTTE terrorism in the North, there was a group of devils (‘Mara Senawa’) in the South doing all possible things to undermine the great endeavor that we succeeded in return to sweat, blood and lives of thousands of our Great War Heroes.

Part of them was hard fighting in the media circle to create ‘fear psychoses’ in the society. Another section of the group was active in the back yards of the Western Embassies hoping their middling.

Not all those actions were clearly visible to the battle field that General Sarath Fonseka was fully engaged. However, at times, when these traitors lost their self control, the frustration and hatred of these vicious elements against our valiant security forces came into surface.

Each and every word and action of these traitors cost many more lives of our valiant forces, due to psychological effects in the forces and the society and undue international pressure restricting many more military options. Fortunately, most of the political pressure applied by these goons were properly managed and absorbed by the equally strong and competent political leadership under Mahinda Rajapaksa. He was readily supported by his two brothers Gotabaya Rajapaksa in defense arena and Basil Rajapaksa in international diplomatic arena. Therefore General Sarath Fonseka hardly had to worry about these issues, but focus on military strategies.

After fully defeating the LTTE terrorism, these vicious political elements (and their allied INGO agents) have changed their strategy. However the vicious forces behind these political elements are still active and finding new strategies to fit into the political map of ‘New Independent Sri Lanka’.

Aspirations of the West and the comprador business community
The comprador business community is having tough time because Rajapaksa Government has not only put breaks on selling national assets but reversed some of the illegal sellings of national assets to business mafia. The West is furious after all their efforts and investments to rescue LTTE separatism failed.

Are they looking for a lesser devil?
All these vicious elements now know that they are no longer capable of defeating popular Rajapaksa government using their current political agents whom has lost their political credibility and marketability to the general public. They even clearly know that General Sarath Fonseka is not a type of person they can fully trust. But they have to face the reality and looking for a lesser devil. These vicious elements may have done their home work and identified personal weaknesses of General Sarath Fonseka to convince them to believe in him to be their candidate.

Are they playing for time?
Another possibility is these vicious elements just want to buy time to regroup after the pathetic defeat in separatism that they heavily invested. In that case they will mere use the reputation of General Sarath Fonseka to give reasonable fight in the next presidential election and throw him away. Then they can regroup in new strategy on different political ground that is more favorable for them.

Is General ready for ‘The Mara Parajaya’ or ‘mara parajaya’?
All and all, only the time will tell if battle hardened General Sarath Fonseka is politically competent in defeating all vicious forces (‘The Mara Parajaya’) that are trying to manipulate him for their advantage, or else he will committed himself to a pathetic political defeat (‘mara parajaya’) ruining his hard earned fame during ‘fight against terrorism’.
