The word “Cease Fire”, the old Bible with new cover is no longer valid

25 Apr 2009

The word “cease fire” and “peace talks” has been the most freighting word for all peace loving Sri Lankans in the recent history. The plain meaning of “cease fire” is very humanistic. However, unfortunately the politics of Christianity dominated western world is not usually operating on genuine humanitarian basics, but aiming for political and military supremacy of them.

Western countries have never mentioned the word “Ceasefire” neither when they were colonizing the Asian and African countries in the past nor when they involved in invasions in Middle East countries for hunger for oil. Then, why do Western countries always preach, and at times threatend Sri Lankan government to agree to cease fire with the LTTE which was the most ruthless (shown by examples) terrorist organization on earth?

Simple answer is that the whole western world has been developed on the basis of myths and bogus values (based on either faith for a almighty God or mere desire for retaining the supremacy) rather than true values like loving kindness and empathy. Therefore, they are not at all hesitate to exploit even apparently good words for their benefit.

Couple of century’s back, when Western colonial masters invaded African and Asian countries, they brought not only guns and ammunitions but also the Bible to supplement their venture. The same pattern is still exists where on one hand they tolerate and at instances secretly facilitate fund raising and political recognition for terrorist organizations and on other hand they use INGO agents (Including UN) and other so called diplomatic powers to preach so called “peace” so that the conflicts can be preserved for another century so that they can fish in troubled waters of political instability.

However, now (at the time of this post is publish) the LTTE is confined to mere couple of square Kilo Meters and we will see the end of once so called most brutal terrorist organization in the world. Once the LTTE is fully defeated (in couple of hours time from this writing) the Western leaders may still continue to mutter the old mantra of “cease fire, peace talks, ..”. Then we have to remind them that “Hay mad man, the word ‘cease fire’ now only belongs to history, and we have completed our mission of winning the fight against terrorism.” Now the modern Bible wing of the Western colonial masters in the form of INGOs can pack their luggage and go back to their home countries! We are keeping our eyes open to see what is your next mantra from the Bible.

Election – The Test of the Nation

9 Apr 2009

A typical Sri Lankan voter is one who used to make mistake in the Election Day. Then they keep on cursing the politicians that they themselves have elected, until the next election where they repeat the same mistake. It has been a vicious cycle fueled by many factors.

Parliament - Mirror of the nation
Firstly, we have to accept the fact that it is not politicians alone to blame, but to ourselves. It is us who have elected and re-elected these so called corrupt, inefficient, traitors for years. The members of the parliament or any other local government body are a reflection of the people of the country because they are elected by the vote of the people. If the members are corrupt and do not love and defend the nation, it means that the people of the country are also corrupt minded and do not love their country. In simple, if majority of this country are bulls, donkeys and foxes, they will elect majority in the same category. Therefore, we should curse ourselves as a nation first before pointing fingers at politicians.

Election - Test of the nation
Election is a test for the nation. If we think that we as a nation love our country and we are not corrupt as politicians, then we have miserably failed in most of those tests in the past.

When one sits for an examination, he has to prepare for it. It is not only the study notes or lecture materials, but one has to read reference material looking to get the complete picture. Likewise every voter has to do his homework before step into the election centre. He should be an active citizen in the society whose eyes and ears are open so that he has reasonable knowledge of what has happened in the country. The passive citizens always spoil the results of the test of the nation.

It is processing power of information that decides the success or failure in the examination. There are so many channels of information. You should know the background of the information channel before accepting those blindly. An INGO or other hidden international arm may be funding those information/news resources or there may be hired agents within those working tirelessly to brainwash you throughout the year so that you can be fooled in the Election Day.

An examination can not test all the areas or knowledge, but only a selected cross section of it. Similarly, you have to select the best out of the given list from the party. Not a single political party is perfect and therefore people have the option to filter out mistakes make by the political parties. If a wrong person is able to sneak into the parliament or any other public body then it is not only the political party, but the people of the country too has made the same mistake.

Leader – Personality of the nation
There are people who sat for the exams answering required amount of questions, but later found that they have missed a mandatory question, resulting failed in the examination. The same apply in elections. It is a must that the voters planned in advance for the leader. Unfortunately, in general elections it is the party that decides the leader. However, in Presidential Election the nation has the sole power of electing the leader. In provincial and local government elections, the voters have fair amount of influence in selecting the leadership. It does not matter how well the team you elect, unless you elect a true leader with required quality. That is why every one of us must be conscious in using preferential votes to influence selecting the leader by giving the highest preferential votes. When the leader is genuine and correct, his influence will make even weak points in the team solid and the mechanism is going to be effective once again.

Are you ready to pass in the next test?
It is up to us to individually sit in the next test on Election Day. The politicians alone will not be the winners or the loosers. You also will either be failed the test in the election day and be another miserable character cursing the politicians that you yourself have elected or vote intelligently and be a happy citizen who is proud of his choices in the election day. It is your individual result that will determine the collective result of Sri Lankan nation being either a failed nation or rising nation. What is your choice?

Lalith, Sisiliya, Sakwithi and monkey business

5 Apr 2009

Once upon a time in a village, a man came & announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each. The villagers, seeing that there were many monkeys in the forest, went out and started catching them.

The man bought thousands at $10 each. As supply started to diminish and villagers started to stop their efforts, he announced that now he would buy them at $20 each.

This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again. Soon, the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms.

The offer rate was increased to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became so scarce that it was an effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch it.

The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50 each. However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on behalf of the man.

In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers "Look at all the monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected. I will sell them to you at $35 each and when my boss comes back, you can sell them to him for $50 each."

The villagers queued up with all their savings and bought all the monkeys.

After that, neither the assistant nor the businessman could be found anywhere but the monkeys were everywhere!
