Why Bandula and Kehelia became the key victims of comprodor media?

Mass media plays key role in manipulation of cognizant of the nation. The comprador ancestral media continue to play a role in their futile attempt of retaining colonial political and economical grip in the country. The ‘Lake House’ which was founded by Ranil Wickramasinghe’s ancestors played the anchor role in promoting post colonial comprador politics
until it was nationalized under Bandaranaika government.

With the 1971 victory of JR, the capitalist business front formed another media network under Vijaya News papers. They continued to promote the agenda of the West which was to promote capitalism and separatism in Sri Lanka. They have two key objectives. The first aim is to facilitate the exploitation of the Sri Lanka’s natural and human resources at dog cheap. The second aim is to promote Western culture so that Sri Lankan consumer can be easily exploited to sell their junks.

Both news and analysis are flavored by these comprador media business mafia to suite their vicious agenda. Let’s take an example to briefly discuss this aspect. During last three years who are the most attacked ministers in PA government?  Who are the most inefficient or corrupt ministers in the cabinet? Does comprador media mafia attacked those real traitors?

In the common people’s view the top of the list of most inefficient, exorbitant and currupt ministers include Rohitha Bogollagama (accused of excessive expenditure and inefficency), Milinda Moragoda (formally accused in COPE report of misappropriate use of power in privatization), A.H.M Fouzy (Incompetence/corrupt in hedging agreement) and some others.

But who are the top three victims of cartoonists of comprador media in last three years? Certainly politicians with business background (same comprador society) like Bogollagama and Moragoda are never in these waged cartoonists attack list.

Everyone with balance mind will agree that the top two victims of cartoonists of comprador media happened to be Bandula Gunawardana and Keheliya Rabukwella. Are these two the most corrupt or inefficient in the government?

Simple answer is ‘No’. why these comprador media agents still going after them? The answer is simple and straight forward.

Bandula Gunawardana

Bandula Gunawardana is playing key role in combating multinational and national business mafia to protect Sri Lankan consumer. He is the General in combating multinational business front. His opponents include not only international giants like Shell but local business giants like Maharaja. There are hardly any allegations of corruption against Bandula Gunawardana. He spends all his time to keep tight grip on business mafia. Once sold out ‘Sathosa’ is back in full fledge serving the nation.  No wonder Bandula Gunawardana happened to be the main victim of their media attack.

Keheliya Rabukwella

Keheliya Rabukwella happened to be one of the first minister calling LTTE terrorists by their true name of “TERRORISTS”. During CBK-Ranil regimes Prabakaran was called a “Gentlemen” by feeble politicians. Adding to the injury just like Bandula Gunawardana Rabukwella too was a deserter of UNP. Therefore the political hatred against Rabukwella in UNP camp was even higher. When the lion’s roar of Rabukwella was eminent the LTTE back licking cartoonists branded him as the dirty linen washer of the government. Rabukwella’s comments against LTTE helped forming national consensus in fight against terrorism. No wonder why the waged writers that were trying hard to create fear psychosis in Sri Lankan society hate Rabukwella than Anton Balasinghem.

The politico-business media mafia and their hidden agenda are now fully exposed. With the advent of technology, new mode of media is emerging. They are already loosing in the battle of non-conventional media front. Soon they will be challenged in all forms of media in new knowledge society of Sri Lanka.
