The reality behind ‘News’ of Vikalpa media

News is a consumer item of selling for businessmen in the mass media industry. For bankrupt politicians ‘News’ is a mode of generating surges to effect the thinking patterns of the people.
Unlike the people of the West, ‘News mongering’ is a popular past time of Sri Lankans, especially among the Sri Lanka male population.

Both media businessmen and politicians without any vote basis know this aspect very well. That is why the collaboratively spread so called “News” in the society. Media businessmen get the benefit because they have a commodity to sell. Volatile political field is a breading ground of news. Therefore, they do not mind the ethical aspects of promoting false news. There are INGO based news mongering sites as well. These INGO funded news organizations do not depend on the revenue of selling news. They get funding directly from their allied INGO’s.

They can set up a news site and spread false news for some time. When they loose credibility, they close down their site and set up a new site with different identity. In the past, some sites even claimed that they close down their site as a demonstration to the government’s media oppression. But in reality, they know that they can only fool some people for some time, but not all the time.

There are some online so called “News’ sites which does not even care about the definition of news. For them news is their aspiration. For example, if they wish that few ministers should cross over to the opposition. They will form it as‘news’. They will word that it will happen in next few days.

There are still ardent supporters of bankrupt political parties. For them this breaking news is a great arouse. They E-mail it to every one they know. Highly unrest supporters get some self-satisfaction by doing that.

After few days or even after few hours the truth is revealed. Some news simply expired or at times a gentle clarification will null and void it altogether. Then these news mongers silently remove that so called “Breaking News” from the site and also from archives. If one closely analyse the news archives, you will find that these so called false “Breaking News” are no longer their.

Its people they fool by generating news of short life span. You may also be a victim of these so called “Vikalpa” news sites. Now its time to think. Do you want to be another news mongering clown of these sites? By mere reading these petty rumers that hardly ever happen, you will also loose your character and ethical values. It’s a hard thing to be born as a human. So let the life be a meaningful one and not be a victim of bankrupt politicians and vicious businessmen’s agenda.
