Capitalism - Understanding the vicious monetary system (Lesson 1)

24 Dec 2009

Have you ever pause for few seconds in your daily living and ask yourselves ‘What is the motivation or driving force behind my life?’ I am sure you will give various reasons. However most of those reasons will ultimately drill down to the root cause of “Making Money”.

You may be spending days and nights, put extra effort work late hours in an office or a factory to make money. You may be a manager who treats your employees in harsh manner or lies them as part of your job to make your money. You may be living away from your family and loved ones for years because you choose to make money as your first priority in life.

You may have studied hard in your child hood thinking that you will make money and live happily in your youth. You may be a specialized professional having degrees and diplomas on different areas of specializations. But have you ever shown interest in understanding the mechanism of monetary system?  In simple do you really know how money works?

It is very important that you spend some time and strive to understand the mechanism of money. Otherwise you will only be a fool and others will be exploiting you. So let’s spend some time to understand the system that you have been part for long.

You may find it bit difficult to understand this at once. But it is essential that you put some effort (Ohh effort is what you make almost all the time in your work hoping to earn money! ) and understand the real mechanism that you too has been a small gear wheel.

What you were taught
Before introducing the real mechanism, lets refresh the what you were taught at grade 5  in primery school.

"It is a medium of exchange, a substitute for goods or services. For example, if you have one barrel of wheat, and you want a cow, without currency you have to find someone who not only has a cow, but also wants a barrel of wheat and will agree to the trade. Now, if you live in a place where round, stamped coins are widely considered to have a certain value and can be exchanged for other things, then you just have to find someone who needs wheat. That person will take the wheat in exchange for an agreed-upon amount of coins, which you can later use to buy a cow from someone else. "

The Real Syatem
Society today is composed of series of institutions. They are political institutions, legal institutions, religious institutions, two social institutions of ‘family’ and ‘values’ and finally occupational specialization. Those traditional systems have influence on our understanding of life. However there is no system that is taken for granted and misunderstood as the monetary system. It has been one of the most unquestioned forms of faith in modern society. How money is created, the policies by which it is governed and how it truly affects society are unregistered interests of the great majority of the population.
"We invented money and we use it, yet we cannot...understand its laws or control its actions. It has a life of its own."
      - Lionel Trilling, literary critic
The Reality
We live in a world where 1% of the population ask for the 40 % of the planet’s love  and a world where 34 000 children die every single day due to poverty and preventable deceases and 15 % of the world population lives in less than 2 $ a day. One thing is clear. Something is very wrong.

Whether we are aware or not the life blood of all established institutions and society itself is money. Therefore understanding of this institution of monetary policy is critical to understand why our lives are the way they are.

Unfortunately economics is often viewed with confusion. Endless stream of financial jargons coupled with intimidating mathematics quickly deters people from attempts at understanding it. However the fact is the complexity associated with financial system is a mere mess designed to conceal one of the most socially paralyzing destruction that humanity has ever endorsed.

The following video attempts to help you understand the real mechanism of how modern monetary system was masterminded in USA to form capitalist system.

Hope you have now got a better understanding of the monetary system under capitalism. If you still find it difficult to grasp it, here is a simplified version showing how USA master minded the capitalist system for their benefit . The following presentation reveals the reality behind America’s so called “Fight against terrorism”

Now think. Are you going to blindly run after money which itself is based on myths, fraudulence, violence and mere passion. Do not ever let money control your life. Understand the reality of money. The Capitalist system demands each one in the society to strive for money, and not strive for happiness and self satisfaction. Lets not be a slave of a vicious system, but genuine human beings. Enjoy and live your life helping others. Do not act in harsh way in greed for mythical money. Be smart. Have a balance life in harmony with nature.

Await.....Lesson 2 - How banking system hold you to the vicious system of capitalist by way of loans.

What you say about monetary system is true, monetary mechanism is not unique to Capitalism or America is not an idealist capitalistic country for taken for every example related to capitalism. Instead America is a socialist country for rich people.
