Lanka Rising blog was initiated on July 2007 with the objective of facilitating “Rising of Sri Lanka”. However, it was a time that terrorism had dominated over democracy. Therefore, the bulk of the effort of Lanka Rising had to be devoted for “Fight against terrorism” because defeating terrorism was a pre requisite for true economic, social and cultural (r)evelution of the country.
Now we have fully achieved fight against terrorism and therefore it is now time to devote bulk of the effort of Lanka Rising on the next big milestone of the nation, the social-cultural-eonomic (r)evolution.
What is ‘Lanka Rising’?
It is social-cultural-economic (r)evolution of Sri Lankan nation. In short, it is to make Sri Lankans a happier nation. A nation well satisfied of what they do and what they achieve; a country developed based on its cultural, social and religious roots; a country with sustainable development in harmony with nature.
When it is happening?
This is not a revolution, but a (r)evolution. To be more descriptive, it is an informative evolution. The day this informative revolution is achieved in the minds of majority of Sri Lankans will be the day of Lanka Rising.
Can you join ‘Lanka Rising’?
Yes, it’s a collaborative endeavor. You can share your wisdom and if willing promotes the idea. It’s an informative evolution and therefore everyone can lead in different capacities at different times. You may use your blog or social networks or any other resource to collaborate and lead achiving this.
Does ‘Lanka Rising’ a political objective?
Yes and No.
Yes, in the sense that it is 'socio-cultural economic philosophy of Lanka Rising' is absorbed into political power that fulfill the ultimate success of the Lanka Rising is achieved.
No, in the sense that Lanka Rising’s intention is to influence politicians and political parties as part of (r)evolution of individuals rather than forming a separate political party. This will result in (r)evolution of individual politicians as well as new emerging politicians to achieve the objectives of Lanka Rising.
How long will it take to achieve Lanka Rising?
It only took only less than three years to fully defeat once so called world's most powerful terrorist organization! This is much easier because, its purely an informative (r)evolution with solid historical, geological, social and philosophical backing.
What Next?
Await, just as envisaged in ‘fight against terrorism’, we will educate and enlighten the current realities, its consequences, and more importantly the way out of it.
Just like we started by formally defining ‘Terrorism’, its vicious cycle and mechanism, we will yet again start with identifying the real issue for individuals in current economic-social system and discuss possible innovative approach to achieve better developed Sri Lankan society.
It will be a practical and feasible approach which arises from our own cultural, social and religious wisdom. Please keep an eye on next few posts in the coming months. Those are not to be meant for mere reading pleasure, but to reflect on with your own life.
