President's address to UN - Read between the lines

27 Sep 2007

I am proud to inform you that despite the significant challenge posed by the ongoing conflict with a ruthless terrorist group in the North of the country, we have freed the Eastern Province from terrorism, and restored law and order there.
I mean fully defeated and swap away the terrorists from the Eastern province. Its done and completed...
We are taking steps to return the usurped rights of the people by conducting Provincial and Local Government Elections in the East by early next year. There is a clear opportunity for the international community to play a vital role in breaking the cycle of conflict by focusing on development.
OK, do you guys preaching democracy will help out conducting elections? If you really concern of democracy in countries like us, here is your chance to act...
It is a beautiful sight on our rural roads to see thousands of children in clean white uniforms heading for school. it is a fine example of our success in achieving education for all.
How many people in US will identify New York in the world atlas?
Sri Lanka's ancient civilization was rooted in the Buddhist principles of Metta and Ahimsa. Metta is loving kindness to all living beings and Ahimsa is a deep respect for life. Human rights have been an essential part of our great cultural tradition for millennia. It is therefore nothing new for us to protect human rights. Women in pre-colonial Sri Lanka enjoyed rights that are prescribed under CEDAW [Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women] - including rights of property ownership and inheritance rights. It was certainly not an accident that Sri Lanka produced the first democratically elected woman Prime Minister in the world in 1960.

Guided by the principles of Buddhism, We have long respected the rights of our fellow human beings. Therefore, it had not been necessary for us to experience global wars or the deaths of millions to, learn to recognize their value. My country has no record of inflicting misery on fellow human beings for the purpose of empire building, for commercial advantage or for religious righteousness.
We are from a great eastern culture nourished by Buddhism. Human rights are our co values for eon. When you guys were fighting each other for power and wealth. We had always living in peace and harmony. Your colonialism has mad all our problems. Now for the god sake, please let us solve our problems by ourselves.
It is essential that international action to facilitate compliance with human rights standards is fair and even handed. Human rights have to be protected and advanced for their own sake, not for political gain.
You know what I mean...
Terrorism anywhere is terrorism. There is nothing good in terrorism. Sri Lanka has taken an upfront position in the global community's efforts to deal with terrorism.
You know what I mean...

Fishy leader and media water

24 Sep 2007

Media ancestry
Ranjith Wijayawardana who is the owner of Wijaya publications that publish ‘Lankaddepa’ is Ranil’s uncle. Shan Wickramasingha who is the owner of TNL media network is Ranil's own brother.

This simply shows how much of media support Ranil has inherited from his family background giving him undue advantage over the other politicians in government and opposition.

Still, Ranil is frequently accusing the media for not supporting his political campaigns. Once in the parliament, he threatened that editors must be summoned to the parliament and they should be questioned. Not so long ago, he accused the editor of ‘Lankadeepa’ (paper owned by his owned uncle) for not reporting his full speech. And recently Ranil again lashed out on the editors of ‘Lankadeepa’ , ‘Lakbima’ and ‘Divaina’ saying that these editors have observed new ‘thisarana’ in the name of Mahinda, Gotabaya and Basil.

It is usually governments that criticize the media but its other way round now. Why is it Ranil so concerned of media? The simple answer is that just like water for a fish; Ranil is so much dependent on the media for his political survival!!

Indifferent character
Ranil got into politics due to his family background and his uncle J R cleared the initial path of Ranil’s political career. Then president Premadasa who kept away true leaders like Lalith and Gamini from key positions, selected Ranil (Other choice was D.B. Wijethunga) for high profile government post. When LTTE brutally killed the political leadership of UNP, namely Premadasa, Lalith, Gamini and Ranjan, it was Ranil who got the wind fall.

The leadership of UNP is a piece of cake that Ranil was presented due to his family background and other external factors, and not because of any real fighting and true leadership qualities of him.

It all happened when SLFP was still under the influence of Bandaranayaka (Radhala) family. So Ranil found no issues because he had to compete with mere family characters rather than real leaders (Anura, CBK) from the main opposition.

When bronze meet Titanium
However it all changed when he has to compete with Mahinda Rajapaksa who is a tempered and true born leader who fought against radala dynasty and won the leadership of SLFP. Now for the first time in his political career, Ranil has found his limitations and inabilities and now it is too late to develop new leadership skills for this old character who has walked in a rosy way.

Now he is looking for all sort of external support to fill up gaps in his character. Firstly he has turned into the international community to get their support. Secondly, he is ever crazily seeking the support of media to boost his image as a leader. There are different wings in Ranil’s media politics.

Direct campaigners
The most evident form is through media networks directly supporting the agenda of UNP.
While Maharajah and Telshan media networks play key roles in electronic media. It is Wijaya publications (Owned by Ranil’s uncle) which publish Sunday Times, Daily Mirror and Lankadeepa and Leader publications which publish Sunday Leader and Morning Leader that play key role in printed media for boosting the image of this politically bankrupt character. Recently, he has initiated a web media campaign as well in the for of lankaenews, which is sphere headed by non other than his new political advisor Ravi Karunanayaka.

Hide and support
Ranil is very shrewd in manipulating the media. Firstly he approaches the eloquent and youth media personals and convinces them to move into politics. For some of the energetic youth, it is seen as a good deal considering the facilities and power associated in politics. So they come into mutual consensus with UNP leadership. So initially they work on inflating the image of Ranil and UNP while continue to work as media personal. At the end of the agreed time period, they left the media profession and join UNP as party organizers. So they no longer required to play ‘hide and support’ game, but directly involve in politics. Current UNP party organizers Buddhika Pathirana (Organizer for Matara), Chandana Sooriyabandara (Organizer for Kandy ) and Manoosha Nanayakkara (Organizer for Galle ) directly come under this mechanism, and there may be few others in the media still spending their ‘hide and support’ probation period dreaming of entry into politics in UNP.

Before the judge is hanged!!

COPE Chairman Wijedasa Rajapakse, addressing the 4th Key Persons' Forum for 2007, had said that there was a crucial difference between this report and the previous ones. "Most other reports say there had been some corruption and some mismanagement," he said. However, the latest has specifically identified the mismanagement and culprits. COPE began its investigation in August 2006 and prepared a report in four months on 26 government institutions which alleges mismanagement of over a staggering Rs.150 billion.”

It is reported that majority of the corruption takes place in institutions such as the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) which is accumulating a monthly liability of Rs.1.5 billion. Others include the Board of Investment (BOI), state banks, and the Water Board. By far the greatest disaster detailed in the COPE report was the privatization of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation (SLIC) in 2003.

The chairman of the COPE himself has humbly and honestly admitted in his speech in Parliament, referring to the Parliamentarians in the first person: ‘This report is an indictment on all 225 of us who are here. It is not because we have all robbed the country, but because we are the Custodians of Public finances and we have failed to do our duty in this regard over the years.’

While Sri Lanka is fortunate to have the present leadership of the COPE that takes a laborious effort to look into the affairs of some vital public institutions, the Executive branch of the State has so far failed to take any meaningful action to probe into the findings of the COPE report.

It is in this backdrop that recently it was reported that COPE chairman Wijedasa Rajapakse has been criticized heavily in last Cabinet meeting. So far the government has failed to take any noticeable action against those clearly pointed out in COP report; rather it is now running after the COPE chairman himself.

It is a shame to have bunch of this type of politicos in this country. They are not only a set of shameless pigs stealing peoples money, now they are trying to hunt the COPE chairman for disclosing their dirty acts.

Further there are serious allegations that MPs are changing sides for monetary or other benefits. It is not only the politicos, but there are herd of businessmen behind these goons as well. We all know who bought the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation (SLIC) who is the owner of distilleries co-operation, LankaBell and Appalo (Sri Lanka) Hospital.

These horrible businessmen and politicos are still roam in the political arena as pretending as gentlemen. But the reality is they are mere moving rotten trunks stinking this society.

If the government is not taking any action, it is the duty of the people of this country to spit on their faces.

The Siren, Dr. Jayalth Jayawardena and fleeing psychology

19 Sep 2007

We all know the famous story of Madduma Bandara. While the true historical incident was pivoted around the cruelty of King Sri Wickrama Rajasingha, it is small Madduma Bandara that challenged this cruelty saying;

“Aiyandiya, biya nowanna. Marena hati mama penwami”
(Don’t be afraid brother, I will show you how to die (as a hero). )

It is names of this type of heroes that the history has written in gold.

While these historical reports applaud the heroic character of Madduma Bandara, those equally rebuff the character of his own elder brother Loku Bandara as feeble cry boy.

It is famous saying that ‘history repeats’, and therefore it is our duty to clearly identify parallel characters in modern society.

Dr. Jayalath Jayawardena is one of the mysterious characters in Sri Lankan political arena. He prefers to spend more time in Wanni jungle than in his electorate and most of his visits are secret and puzzling.

He occasionally come in front of media and states that he is concerned of killing of people due to war (He never call this as terrorism). His main endeavor in the last decade has been to distribute sirens among the Sinhala and Muslim people in so called border villages (in his own terminology) in North and Eastern provinces.

Throughout his political career, we have never seen him distributing even a club to defend the villagers from brutal attacks of tiger terrorists, nor we have ever heard him initiating the same approach (run away) in the LTTE control side.

The rational behind Dr. Jayalth’s campaign is crystal clear. It was LTTE who wanted to chase away Sinhala people who defend their home lands against the myth of Ealam and it is Jayalath Jaywardena who was co-coordinating this chase away from the south. He was very active facilitating the run away of Sinhala people when LTTE is brutally attacking the villagers.

It’s good to see that current government has completely turn this vicious agenda facilitated in south by Jayalath Jayawardena by forming new military unit named Nandimithra Balakaya that are no longer in mere defensive mood, but well capable of carrying out offensive against terrorists to defend their villages.

If modern Loku Bandara ever present in Bogambara ground, he would have cry and say;
“Malanuwani biya nowanna, duwana hati mama penwami.”
(Don’t be afraid younger brother, I will show you way to run away)

But luckily, we no longer need a trumpeter to run away, because at last we have found a true leadership to chase away the terrorists.

In the future, people of Sri Lanka will decide if they further need the service of these so called leaders only capable of facilitating fleeing, because they have finally realized that we need leaders only to march forward and defend our territory and not to run away in fear of terrorists.

Basil Rajapaksa to wage war against poverty and hunger

18 Sep 2007

There are quite a number of MP’s in the parliament who spend their time just seating like dummies. Mr Arjuana Ranathunga and Ven. Uduwe Dammaloka are well-known among this category, and we have herd of tiger proxies in the parliament who are mere dancing into the tune of tiger terrorists and not to mention the political clown like Mervin Silva who was made last in the preferential vote in Colombo district, still somehow creep into the parliament in shameless manner. Parliament is not to play devil nor for those who need to burn their extra calories.

It is in this backdrop that senior Presidential Advisor Basil Rajapaksa is to be sworn in as a national list MP today to fill the vacancy created by the demise of Irrigation Minister Anwer Ismail. It is believed that once Basil Rajapaksa is appointed an MP, he will be appointed as the Cabinet Minister of Nation Building.

This is the time where the nation is badly in need for leadership and the nation has apprehended the meaning of leadership. There was a time when political clowns and witches were procession in front of the nation by NGO mafia and foreign forces as leaders using their media network.

Still these media networks work crazily to cell their old agents as leaders, but the people of this country has march extra mile ahead of these vicious forces.

The whole political system in this country were under the custody of these foreign forces through their local agents CBK and Ranil. UNP never manage to come out of this grip but it was Mahinda Rajapaksa from Ruhuna who managed to defeat this evil grip in SLFP.

People were desperate to break free and finally they found a leadership. Now it is the time for gradually cleansing this mechanism and removing microbes from national politics. We need fresh leadership for this and luckily we are blessed with not just one leader, but a family of true born leaders.

It was under Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s prudent politico-military leadership that the war against terrorism is winning and the whole Eastern province has already been cleared. It is Basil Rajapaksa who took leadership in reviving the Eastern province economically and socially by withholding the winning flag hand over by military leadership.

If any one ask the question of which is the most successful task under this government, the unanimous answer is the ‘war against terrorists’ which is sphere headed by Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

That is why all the pro LTTE evil forces are targeting Gotabaya physicall and politically. That is the sole reason that these anti nationalistic groups lead by Ranil Wickramasingha try to spread false fear of existence of ‘Sahodara Samagama’ (brother’s union), because they clearly identified the threat if Basil Rajapaksa come into the political arena, it is economy and infrastructure development that is going to be rise next. It is a bold decision by Mahinda Rajapaksa to elect Basil as a MP in order to get the maximum use of his leadership and talent and we are pretty confident that just as his brother Gotabaya, Basill will justify for the responsibility his Mahinda is vesting on his shoulders.

When king Gamunu was busy fight against Elara’s invasion, it was prince Tissa who took up the challenge of boost up the prosperity in the south in order to wage the war successfully and roles of both the brothers were written in gold in the history.

Lashing burst of marching into the den of the Tiger terrorist

17 Sep 2007

In Mahavansa, it is written that in 1153 A.D., king Parakramabahu sent a flotilla of navy to Burma (Ramanna desha) and defeated the king of Ramanna. The reason for that invasion was that then king has verbally abused and assaulted the envoy of the king Parakramabahu. That attack was not to overrun and rule a foreign territory, but to defend the sovereignty of our own territory. This written history shows the power and dignity of Sinhala kings.

On 10th September 2007, it was reported that Sri Lankan navy has destroyed three ships containing armory for Tiger terrorists in the international waters, south-east of the island, more than 1200 km away.

It was four ships namely ‘Sayura’, ‘Samudura’, ‘Suranimala, and ‘Shakthi’ under the leadership of Commander Mohotti and Riar Admiral Jayanath Kolabage involved in this historical battle after more than 800 years that King Parakramabahu succeeded a similar attack but for different reason.

This time the attack was not to defeat another kingdom, but for self defense and free our own country from the curse of terrorism.

There was a time when feeble clowns and witches ruling this country in tandems. As a result, terrorists managed to target even our strategic harbors like Trincomalee at will, while these feeble clowns were only at the mercy of foreign mediators to prevent possible attacks.

It all changed in 2005, when people of Sri Lanka decided to select Mahinda Rajapaksa as the president. After a long time, people got a chance to select a true leader, and the voters took the correct use of the opportunity.

Since then, things started to change. It all started slowly first, but now the real positive outcomes are evident. When the leader is weak, he knows only to survive and defend, and that is why enemies love feeble characters that they can exploit.

It is touch of genuine leadership and clear direction that did the trick. It’s the same soldiers and commanders that were under the influence of negative political leadership, are now marching into virtually any place where the enemy stays and destroying it.

When the battle is taken back to the den of the enemy, half the battle is already won. It’s just a matter of time to complete the victory.

Astrology: The mental tail of Sri Lankan society

14 Sep 2007

The Indian sub continent and Arabic region evolved great tradition of astronomy and they were way ahead in observing and exploring the planets and stars of the universe.

There was a great history for mathematics in eastern world to support astronomical calculations. The number system was developed by the people of east and introduction of the concept of zero (0) was the revolutionary in mathematics and science.

However, this great tradition was later influenced by the Hindu religious myths and deviated from evolving as a science. This great mathematical based astronomical science was unfortunately deviated into mere mythical prediction methodology currently known astrology (Jothisya).

In the mean time, Libnitz, one of the great mathematicians in the West, was able to develop the concept of zero into more powerful mathematical concept named as calculus.

Thereafter, while scientist of western world utilized these concepts to develop new powerful western culture which is strongly based on rationale thinking, the people in Indian sub continent were miserably gone astray and still struggling to catch up.

False Concept
We should realise that a false concept will never become right just because the majority of people believe it or because it is believed from ancient times, or because there are eminent scientists among the believers.

Astrology originated when man’s knowledge of astronomy and the universe was wrong. Hence, astrological calculations were and are made on wrong data. Of the nine planets (navagraha) of astrologers only five are real planets. Of the remaining four, one is a star and another a satellite. The remaining two (Rahu and Kethu) do not exist at all! How can conclusions derived from wrong data be true?

Astrological charts are prepared according to the relative visual positions of the so-called planets in the twelve zodiacal constellations at the time of the birth of a person. As the solar planets and the zodiacal stars are millions of miles away from the earth their visual positions at any moment are only virtual and not real. In preparing the chart for a person astrologers make use of the wrong virtual positions of the planets. If they have the knowledge and ability to calculate and find the real positions of the planets through astronomical calculations, perhaps astrologers themselves will lose faith in their cult!

Since light from planets and stars takes several minutes to millions of years to reach the earth, it is clear that astrologers’ charts are wrong by several minutes to millions of years!!

Astrology and Buddhism
The greatest fruit of modern eastern thinking is Buddhism and one of the corner stones of Buddhism is philosophy of Anatta (Not-self; ownerless).

Those who regard
non-essence as essence
and see essence as non-,
don't get to the essence,
ranging about in wrong resolves.

But those who know
essence as essence,
and non-essence as non-,
get to the essence,
ranging about in right resolves.
- Dhammapada (Yamakavagga)

Seeing danger where there is none,
& no danger where there is,
beings adopting wrong views
go to a bad destination.
- Dhammapada (Nirayavagga)

The concept of 'Kamma' (Karma) is one of the key concepts in Theravada Buddhism. The Buddha's teaching of Kamma is not deterministic; nor is it indeterministic, for it operates according to a causal pattern. These cunning astrologers try to connect astrology with the concept of Kamma giving various false reasons. However they never prove that how these planets (weight) are connected to the Kamma, which is never preached by the Buddha either. If there is such connection, it would be non other than Buddha himself that would disclose that relationship with the great compassion for the man kind.

Multiple personality syndrome in the society
The whole concept of Astrology is against the Buddhist concept of Anatta. Because of this Anatta (no self, control) nature that Dukkha (suffering) arise and Buddha's teaching is on identifying the true cause of suffering and thereby eradicate this cause to free from Dukkha. On the other hand when one try to predict once future using mere calculations based on his birth time it is no longer comply with the concept of Anatta, it is rather the counter concept of Athma (self). Therefore, all those Buddhists who go to temple and contemplate on Anaithya (impermenenc), Dukkha (Suffering/unsatisfactoryness), Anathma (no-self) come back home and check their zodiac sign, un-auspicious time periods (Rahu kalaya), etc are living double faced life. Their thinking is constantly based on two conflicting concepts, and alas the result is a nation suffering from multiple personality syndrome.

When the planet Pluto was disregarded from our solar system considering its distance and size, there were so much of buzz and fan fare among astrologers locally and in India. But in the calibrations, they have simply forgotten the fact that their mythical astrology is based on two other imaginary planets called Rahu and Kethu which have never proved to be in existence. While they were celebrating the omission of Pluto for scientific reasons (size and distance from the Sun), they are still calculating the effect of mere imaginary planets named Rahu and Kethu when predicting the fate of individuals.

Two of the most influential planets in astrology, Rahu and Kethu planets have never been caught in the lenses of powerful modern telescopes like Habbal. Is this because of supremacy of astrology or is it simply proving the bankruptcy of astrology?

Astrology, Society and Politics
Despite, all these mythical and irrational nature, astrology is still playing high profile role in Sri Lankan society. While bulk of the ignorant people in the society is blindly following this, there are segments in the society to exploit these poor people. Firstly, it is the astrologers who make good money on this business. The only qualification top be a successful astrologer is to overcome the fear of lying, and be eloquent to convince all his lies. There are number of businessmen who publish astrological magazines and weekly news papers to earn money by selling these myths. Finally, but importantly, it is bankrupt politicians that try to exploit astrology to gain petty political advantages. These crooks know that it is very easy to deceive those people who believe in astrology. So they spread rumors that they have Raja yoga (destined to become king) and try to fool the ignorant voters.

Astrology has been in Sri Lankan society for some time, and it will continue to be there until foolishness and ignorance with the people, and there are enough clever crooks to exploit them in the society.

It is time to shade this mental tail of astrology and march forward to create new eastern culture based on humanity and rational thinking.

Mervin - Dejected by people and elated by politicos

10 Sep 2007

Like father like son
In November 2006 Malaka and two of his bodyguards pleaded guilty for attacking Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) officers, who were on a drug raid at a night club in a five-star hotel. On that occasion, Colombo High Court Judge Upali Abeyratne ordered each of them to pay compensation of Rs. 10,000 and enter into a bond of Rs 100,000 each, to be in good behavior for a year.

Malaka Silva is widely believed to be a dealer in the banned substance, ecstasy. He is one of the main dealers in the drug, popular among the affluent party goers in Colombo. The police narcotics team was on a tip-off to apprehend an ecstasy dealer, when they were confronted by Malaka Silva. Junior Silva was arrested and charged with intimidating and obstructing the PNB team.

In another incident, both Mervyn and Malaka jointly ran amok and destroyed property at another Colombo night club in 2004. On that occasion, Junior got into a fight at Clancy’s night club and Senior came along with his goons for support. Before long, severe damage was caused to the Clancy’s night club and the Soprano’s Karaoke Bar in the same building. A security guard who witnessed the whole incident told police that it was Mervyn Silva, along with his goons, who had damaged the property of the club. However, a few days later, the security guard had changed his story, presumably under political pressure and gave an affidavit retracting his earlier statement to police. The courts, meanwhile, dismissed the case for the lack of evidence.

In the world of political clowns
It remains to be seen whether this time too the politico’s son is given immunity from justice. The question begging for answer is whether there is a separate justice system, which only applies for politicians and their brats in this country, or whether they too are expected to abide by the same laws and regulations that govern the rest of the public.

Rejected by people
By the time CBK returned to SL politics, Mervin was in UNP and he used harsh and abusive words to criticize her. But after sometime this shameless political clown got the membership of SLFP after knelt down and asking for excuse in front of CBK in public.

In General election in 2004, People of Colombo rejected Mervin Silva and made him the LAST in the list.

elated by politicos
However, he has added his wife into the National list and somehow convinced CBK to enter her in to the parliament. Later DEFEATED Mervin entered into parliament using this national list seat.

It is said that National list is there for intellectual and professionals to enter the legislature. However in this case it was used to enter this POLITIICAL CLOWN in to the parliament.
This clown bought a Phd and now calling himself as “Doctor”. The ordinary people of Sri Lanka are laughing at this political joker for all his clown ships.

It was great shame that president Rajapaksa appointed this crook as the minister of Labour. It was bit uncharacteristic for Mahinda, but now President has responsibility for all the dirty work done by Mervin and his shameless sons.

Mahinda is a silent approver of bloody politics ?
Mr. Rajapaksa, you sons may be behaving decently, still you can not hands off any of the thuggery and bloody actions done by this short minded political clown and his foolish sons, because you have approved CBK’s appointment of this clown by giving him ministry portfolio !!!!! Mr Rajapaksa, the time to correct your mistakes is running out....

When political craving is beyond shamelessness

6 Sep 2007

There is a famous Sinhala saying that "Lajja nathikama mahamudali kamatah wadiya lokuilu" which literally means "being shameless is worse than getting the post of Muddliarship". This clearly describes how ordinary people in Sri Lanka looked at the people who betrayed the country for mere economical and political gains in the colonial era.

Firstly, they betrayed their religion and converted to satisfy the white regime and thereby getting undue favoritism and later they became the local agents (Mudhali, Aracchi, etc) of imperialism. They helped exploiting the common people of Sri Lanka for the greed of petty gains. In return, they became the privileged class in Sri Lanka by 1948, when the western imperialists left after extracting the true spirit of our country.

Life is easy for someone
shameless,
cunning as a crow,
backbiting and forward,
arrogant and corrupt,

but for someone who's constantly
scrupulous, cautious,
observant, sincere,
pure in his livelihood,
clean in his pursuits,
it's hard.

- Dhammapada (Malavagga)
When the people got their voting rights, these opportunists found that in order to retain their privileges, they need to transform their interface back into nationalistic form. Unlike in India, however, Sri Lankan dignified community change only their external interface in order to fool the common people while they retained their internal Anglican culture in line so that they can still deal with their western masters.

So they nominally transform back to Buddhism and some even change their attire to match national dress.

In the Bandaranayaka memorials days, it's the Bandaranayaka Samadhi decorated with national and Buddhist flags that get the eye of cameras and never to his father's tomb just few foots away decorated with catholic symbols.

Many of the cunning politicians were able to pretend as nationalist to get the voting of the ordinary people of Sri Lanka, while only a handful were really true patriotic in actions.

And there are some others who are even failed in pretending as Buddhists or genuine Sinhalese. They frequently mess up in the eye of the public, while trying to pretend as someone who care and know about our religion, culture and history.

From time to time, one character from these clans is hand picked by the western bureaucracy and dressed in either national attire or 'Ossarry' and pebble necklaces and procession in front of the nation as their national leader. There are NGO local agents and shameless media mafia to inflate those mere western Muppet characters as true intellectuals and great gentlemen or ladies.

And only after they juggle the voters and come to power, they start showing their true intentions and true masters.

Then the common people start weeping for their mistakes, but usually it is too late.

These traitors may come in various political parties and fractions, but they will all be united when they need to face a common obstacle in the form of true patriotic national leader.

Now its time to change the old adage in such that;

"Mudali paramparawala ewunta thamath rawetena eka lajja nathi kamatath wadiya lokui"

It's a greater shame to get deceived by Mudali's clan (even by now).

Sekkuwa effect in APRC

4 Sep 2007

Sekkuwa is a simple extracting machine traditionally used to extract oil. However, the extracted oil from the Sekkuwa is directly depends on the raw materials inserted. Its no point wishing for ghee oil if one has added mustard into the Sekkuwa, rather it will always results in mustard oil. This is exactly what is happening in the All Party Representative Committee (APRC).

In the last presidential election, Mahinda Rajapaksa got a mandate to defeat terrorism and preserve the unitary status of Sri Lanka. The war against terrorism is moving forward successfully fulfilling the aspirations of the nation. However it is not the case with APRC which is intended to come up with constitutional changes.

The reason for difference in results is clear for all. The war is handled under the correct political and military leadership and its winning. While Mahinda Rajapaksa himself actively involve in key decisions of the war he has appointed his own brother to handle the war. Therefore, the war against terrorism has not been unduly influenced by wicked forces of West and their local agents in the form of NGOs.

However, when it comes to the APRC, the government adapted to play a passive role and a rotten Marxist Mr. Tissa Vitharana was appointed as the president of the committee. It is well known fact that Sama Samaja party has no vote basis and this politically rejected character only managed to sneak into the parliament in the mercy of National List, and they have weak personality and no leadership. It is this type of bankrupt political clowns that are widely targeted by the Western bureaucracy and their local agent NGO's.

It is well know fact that the initial draft solution presented by Tissa Vitharana was prepared by a NGO rather than representing the view of the political parties with vote basis.

UNP is as ever silent on this committee, because they know that the mechanism is under the grip of NGOs and it is going to deliver nothing but a Federal solution. So UNP, without tarnishing their image, can simply keep aside of delivering the wicked Federal baby while NGO midwives are actively at play.

The appointment of Tissa Vitharana was made in very early stages of Mahind Rajapaksa government and it never rectified this mistake. President had tried to track back the committee on several occasions; still they were only temporally measures. It is still not too late for the president to actively involve with the process and provide direct leadership to full fill his mandate.

Because we all know, as long as seed of mustard is in the Sekkuwa, we can only hope of nothing but mustard oil. So this is the time for the president to change the seed in order to get the desired product before it is too late. Its time to oust Tissa Vitharana and vicious NGO midwives from delivery process of constitutional reforms for our mother country.

The lions roar of brigadier Prasath Samarasingha

3 Sep 2007

It is reported that Brigadier Prasath Samarasingha has been appointed as the defense advisor to the high commission of Sri Lanka in Britain and will be leaving to UK in the coming days.

Brigadier Prasath Samarasingha has been doing a wonderful job as the media spokesman of Sri Lankan army since 2005. He has been well respected among the media personals for being supportive and professional.

Brigadier Prasath Samarasingha was appointed for this post at the end of a dark era for Sri Lanka army under vicious regime of CBK and Ranil Wickramasingha.

It was the time when intelligent personals of SL army had been gun down by LTTE terrorists and country was under the mockery of 'Pongu Tamil' jubilations of terrorists. Then military spokesman Brigadier Sarth Munasingha was doing all the dirty laundering for the then governments justifying all these vicious acts by LTTE against our mother country and its forces (for which Brigadier Sarth Munasingha has been now given political ransom by being appointed as a party organizer for UNP).

Brigadier Prasath Samarasingha made this negative role into a truly positive role and just as a lion roaring he was straight and up to the point in all his statements and media briefings.

90% of the war is fought in the mind of the people.
It is well known fact that there are handfuls of media personals that are getting paid by western political bureaus, NGOs and political parties.
